Though Medical Marijuana Bill Fail in the Senate; Another Remains Active

In the latest Tennessee cannabis news, a bill that would have legalized medical marijuana in the state has failed in the Senate. The Senate Judiciary Committee disapproved of Senate Bill 854 after lawmakers voiced concerns about constitutionality.

Although this may sound disheartening, there are so many bills in the works right now in Tennessee that could still make medical marijuana legal throughout the state. This year alone, 17 bills were introduced pushing for medical marijuana and decriminalization.

There is still one active bill remaining that could provide hope for potential medical marijuana patients. Senate Bill 667 would have the Tennessee Department of Health study medical marijuana licensing and regulations in the surrounding states.
